Energy bites or energy balls are a delicious combination of protein, healthy carbs, healthy fats, and fiber. What’s great about these bites is that they’re easy to make and great for on the go. But, have you ever tried adding CBD to them? We decided to come up with a no bake CBD energy bites recipe that we’re sure you’ll love!
If you’ve ever wanted to incorporate more raw food into your diet; energy bites are a good way to introduce raw food into your system. As the name implies - no bake - so you’re getting raw ingredients. What’s great about this recipe is that you’re able to modify, or substitute any ingredient as long as you add the honey, oatmeal, and other ingredients to bring it together.
These energy bites provide great energy for both pre, and post-workout. When you take them before a workout they gradually enter your system. Giving you the energy you need to endure your workout without feeling bloated or too full. Also, when taken post-workout they are great for recovery. The CBD enhances the natural effect from the energy bites.
If you find that the energy bites are not sticking together try to add a little bit more honey. Also, you can add water to make it stick together, but if it gets too soggy you can always add more dry ingredients. Keep in mind that you will want to give it a good mix before you put in the fridge. You’ll want a good dough like texture; although you might have some crunchiness if the rolled oats didn’t get soaked all the way.
When infusing any type of food with CBD we always recommend using CBD Tinctures. They are very versatile to use and don’t have a strong flavor. Also, the subtle flavor it does have will only enhance your experience if you add it to the right recipe. They come in different strengths and because you’re adding it to food we recommend a higher dosage. You’re able to determine how much you want to add but we recommend either a 1,500 mg or 2,000 mg strength.
One important thing to note is you’ll want to try an energy bite before you use them as a pre-workout or post workout. Everyone reacts to CBD a little bit differently, so you’ll want to find out how you react. If it makes you drowsy then it would be ideal for pos-workouts. If you find that it does provide some energy then pre-workout would be best. On the contrary, they make for great snacks so you don’t have to use them strictly for workouts.
